Age Calculator
Calculate your exact age in years, months, days, weeks, hours, and minutes — and find out how many days until your next birthday.
How this age calculator works
The calculator uses calendar arithmetic to compute your age — the same method used by governments, banks, and HR systems. It counts complete years between your birth date and the target date, then breaks the remainder into months and days. This avoids the common pitfall of dividing total days by 365.25 and getting odd fractional years.
Use cases
- Forms and applications — get an exact age as of a specific date (helpful for visa, insurance, or job applications that ask for age "as of" a deadline).
- Birthdays — see exactly how many days until your next birthday.
- Pets, projects, anniversaries — calculate the age of anything dated.
Frequently asked questions
How is my age different from "total years lived"?
Age in years is the number of completed years. Someone born on March 1, 2000 is 25 years old on February 28, 2026 (still 25), and turns 26 on March 1, 2026. "Total years lived" expressed as a decimal (25.99 years) is mathematically valid but rarely how age is reported.
What about February 29th birthdays?
People born on February 29 typically observe their birthday on February 28 or March 1 in non-leap years. This calculator treats February 29 → March 1 in non-leap years for the "age" computation, matching the most common legal convention in the US.
Is my date of birth saved?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
